The End of Men

Something about this documentary made me almost nervous to get married and commit to a man. Oddly, I felt sad and discouraged because an economic downturn can negatively affect absolutely anybody, regardless of job, pay, class, gender etc. I felt sad for the men in the documentary because they had all experienced and been affected by this, yet they all seemed to maintain a positive " everything will be okay" attitude, which I know for a fact I would not be able to do.
I view the man in a relationship as provider, however I feel it is necessary for the woman to contribute equally. This movie, if anything, motivated me to stay in college and obtain my degree so that if this does happen to my family in the future I can at least keep some sort of income coming in to support my family while my husband regains footing. No man likes to think that he isn't doing a sufficient job in being a husband or a father and I feel that every wife should express this to them so that they know they are supported and not frowned upon.
I enjoyed this documentary immensely because it took a variety of views on how an economic downturn can affect families in different ways. I pray that this doesn't happen to me or anyone near me.
